News from construction site in Gelendzhik
The installation of the roof has begun at the Gelendzhik airport new terminal construction site. The shape of it will symbolize a bird flying over the bay.
The area of the roof is 14,500 square meters; the installation will be implemented in six stages. Main elements of the roof will contain 2,500 unique metal spheres and almost 12,000 core elements. There is no analogies of this structure in Russian airports to date.
The construction of terminal roof is complicated – building is curvilinear, its height is varies from 9.5 to 23 meters. The wind load, location of the terminal and seismic has been taken into consideration when designing. Despite difficult weather conditions, work is on schedule.
